The skill set training involved training in liquid soap, bar soap, after wash, how to make brown sugar, bleach and floor cleaner.

Though it was a way to share love by Priority Insurance, it was also part of its flagship program “Skill Set Training” which seeks to create and facilitate the acquisition of technical and entrepreneurial skills among the youth. It also seeks to reduce the high rate of youth unemployment in the country.

At the training event organized at the camp house of Berry Ladies FC by SamBoad Business Group Limited with Priority Insurance, Mrs. Abena Agyakoma Nketia, Sarpong, Head, Corporate and Broker Unit at Priority Insurance Co. Limited, said the company believes female athletes also deserve more than one skill to survive in Ghana’s economy hence their readiness to make this event possible to help Berry Ladies FC player acquire these skills.

The General Manager, Operations, Mr. Felix Akyea-Bekoe, who was also present to show his support said that Priority Insurance is ready to commit resources to ensure that these noble and laudable events see the light of day within Berry Ladies Football Club moving forward.

He then assured Berry Ladies FC athletes that, after the training, they would be awarded certificates to add to their CVs. He further promised them that more training events would be provided for them so they should take events like these very seriously and be disciplined too.

The General Manager, Marketing and Business Development, Mr. Abubakari Salifu, also advised the players “Whether formal or informal, football or not you have the right to work and acquire more skills and not only skills in sports; Skills like these have become a very lucrative venture so take these trainings serious because you can still play football and set up businesses with these skills.”
